Candidates must have a B.Sc. (Nursing), Post Basic B.Sc. (Nursing), or GNM with a Certificate in Community Health (CCH) from a recognized institute. A permanent registration certificate from the Indian/State Nursing Council is also required.

The selection process involves a Computer-Based Test (CBT) covering general knowledge, reasoning, numerical ability, and technical subjects, followed by document verification. A minimum of 30% marks in the CBT is required to qualify.
