The exam is a 2-hour test with 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). It is conducted primarily in English, with Hindi as an option for non-technical posts. The marking scheme awards 1 mark for each correct answer and deducts 1/3 mark for each incorrect answer. The minimum qualifying marks are 50% for General, EWS, and OBC candidates, and 45% for SC and ST candidates.
The minimum age is 18 years, and the maximum age is 40 years as of July 1, 2024. Age relaxation is available for SC/ST & OBC candidates (up to 5 years), Divyang/Disabled candidates (up to 15 years), permanent government employees with 3+ years of service (up to 5 years), and ex-servicemen (deduction of military service period with a maximum of 3 years over the age limit).
The salary is based on the 7th CPC levels:
Level-5: Jr. Medical Lab Technologist, Receptionist, Pharmacist Gr-2.
Level-6: Technician (Radiology), Technician (Radiotherapy), Technical Officer (Ophthalmology), Technical Officer (ENT), Medical Lab Technologist, Medical Social Service Officer Gr 2, Librarian Grade 2.
Level-7: Technical Officer (Medical Perfusion).
