FAQ

Candidates must have completed the 10th standard from a Board or Institute recognized by the Government. Additionally, they must possess at least a one-year full-time diploma in cooking or culinary arts from a recognized Institute.

Candidates must be between 18 and 27 years of age as of August 1, 2024. Age relaxation is available for SC/ST/OBC/Physically Challenged/Ex-Servicemen/Widow/Divorcee Women/Judicially separated Women (who have not remarried) and dependents of Freedom Fighters, as per Government Rules. There is no age limit for Supreme Court employees who have completed 3 years of regular service in the Registry. However, no age relaxation is provided for candidates working in other Government departments.

The selection process consists of three stages:

1. Written Test: This includes two components – General Knowledge (30 marks) and Cooking/Culinary Arts (70 marks). Candidates must secure at least 60% in each component.

2. Practical Trade Skill Test: A cooking trade skill test, including hygiene, worth 70 marks.

3. Interview: The final stage is an interview worth 30 marks.

The total marks for the selection process are 200, with a minimum of 60% required overall.

Eligible candidates can apply online through the Supreme Court’s official website at www.sci.gov.in. The online registration will start on August 23, 2024, and the last date to submit applications is September 12, 2024, until midnight. The application fee is Rs. 400/- (Rs. 200/- for SC/ST/Physically Challenged/Ex-Servicemen/Dependent of Freedom Fighters/Widow/Divorcee Women/Judicially separated Women who have not remarried).

The written test will be conducted at 17 test centers across 16 states, including Ahmedabad, Ambala, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Ernakulam, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, and Visakhapatnam.
